This painting was made using 7 colors. Hence the name Eptacrom (from the Greek Eptà, seven, and Chroma, colour). The colors used are the three primary ones (blue, yellow and red), the three secondary ones (green, violet and orange) plus white, the latter being used both as a pure color and to dilute the colors (the blue therefore becomes light blue, the red turns pink, purple turns lilac, green and orange simply have brighter shades, so it is a combination of colors with cold (blue, green and purple) and warm (red, yellow and orange) tones, which symbolize, the former, rationality and, the latter, passion.
The aim of this work is therefore to arouse a feeling of balance and harmony between chromatically contrasting elements.
