La stampa raffigura il disegno preparatorio utilizzato per realizzare l’opera intitolata “Girasoli – Omaggio a Vincent van Gogh”, scritta da me utilizzando parte della corrispondenza tra Vincent ed il fratello Theo van Gogh durante il soggiorno del pittore ad Arles, nel sud della Francia. Si tratta delle lettere nelle quali Vincent scrive della realizzazione di 5 quadri dedicati ai girasoli, parte dei quali sarebbero serviti a decorare la stanza di Paul Gauguin, prossimo a raggiungerlo ad Arles.

The Print depicts the preparatory drawing used to create the work entitled “Sunflowers – Tribute to Vincent van Gogh”, written using part of the correspondence between Vincent and his brother Theo van Gogh during the painter’s stay in Arles, in the south of France. These are the letters in which Vincent writes about the creation of 5 paintings dedicated to sunflowers, part of which would have been used to decorate Paul Gauguin’s room, who was about to join him in Arles.
